Job summary

Equans Data Centers is seeking a Project Buyer to join the Procurement team in Didsbury, Manchester. The role focuses on delivering cost-effective, sustainable procurement strategies for complex engineering projects in the UK Data Centre market.

You will manage packages, sub-contractors and materials, while coordinating with design and operations teams. The role offers exposure to high-growth projects and career progression within a global organisation.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of strategic procurement/buying practices.
• Operational buying on Construction Projects experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and packages in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of Construction project life cycle (RIBA stages).
• Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of all packages for allocated Engineering Construction Projects.
• Procurement of sub-contractors and material/equipment (OEM) for strategic trades and project management.
• Engage with project stakeholders from Operational to Design Team and Senior Project management.
• Involvement in tender, preconstruction, contract negotiations and construction stages.
• Deliver competitive procurement solutions balancing cost, quality and sustainability.
• Supply chain management: sourcing, structuring, performance/relationship management.
• Monitor supply chain performance, compliance, workload and financial status.
• Support the implementation of Carbon Reduction within the supply chain.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
• Align with group procurement goals and objectives.
