Job summary

Equans Data Centres is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Mechanical to lead on-site mechanical construction for large data centre projects in High Wycombe and across the UK. You will manage a team, ensure quality, safety and environmental standards are met, and drive execution with robust planning and reporting.

The role requires strong leadership, deep mechanical services knowledge, and a proactive mindset to develop processes with clients and design teams.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Mechanical Services.
• Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve.
• Desire to continually develop knowledge.
• Self-motivated with proven organisational ability and deadlines.
• Customer focused with ability to communicate with clients.
• Attention to Health & Safety matters and commercial acumen.
• Experience in the data centres sector is desirable.
• Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical discipline is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site mechanical construction activities from start to finish.
• Manage a team to ensure work meets quality, environmental and safety standards.
• Drive operational excellence and provide expert technical guidance.
• Coordinate and control on-site construction to progress with plan.
• Develop and agree electrical submission and approval processes with client and design team.
• Support overall programming and planning of the build.
• Attend site meetings and provide information for progress reports.
• Chair and minute subcontractor meetings.
• Record and report key metrics to the team and management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities per policy and plans.
