Job summary

BBC Children in Need is seeking a Project Analyst to join a small team and help modernise day-to-day workflows by simplifying and standardising technology use. You will gather requirements from across the charity, deliver training resources, and run group and individual training sessions to embed new ways of working.

JOB DETAILS

JOB BAND: C CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract / Attachment, Full-time (9 months) DEPARTMENT: BBC Children in Need LOCATION: Salford - Hybrid PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £31,000 - £36,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Project Analyst will play a central role in a small team delivering a project to help modernise the charity’s day to day work through optimisation of the technology we all need to use on a daily basis. You will engage with teams across the charity to understand current pain points and opportunities, and then deliver a program of support to embed standard, simplified and user-friendly ways of working. This will include producing training guides and resources and delivering group and individual training courses.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

• Lead workshops with teams across the charity to build and document an in-depth understanding of current usage, pain points and opportunities
• Work with business stakeholders and Technology colleagues to define and agree a standard toolset to support common business functions across all areas of the charity’s work.
• Build a comprehensive set of training resources including fact sheets, how-to guides & videos.
• Design, schedule and deliver training sessions across all charity teams.
• Report on progress, risks and issues for the project, demonstrating benefits delivered.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Excellent skills across Microsoft Office Toolset, including Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Forms, and Planner.
• Demonstrated ability to understand complex and technical concepts and communicate in everyday language to stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
• Experience in a training role, producing training materials in various formats and delivering group and one-to-one training sessions.
• Experience working on projects, organising, planning, and reporting on progress.
• Ability to work on own initiative, driving progress and taking responsibility for outcomes.

DESIRABLE

• Experience in the charity sector with an understanding of fundraising and grantmaking.
• Experience of working in a large corporate environment.
