The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) supports culture change in the UK higher education (HE) sector. We are working to build an inclusive higher education sector where communities can contribute to, and benefit from, knowledge, teaching and research. We do this by supporting excellent public engagement practice; creating the conditions for public engagement to thrive in universities; and building strong networks and partnerships to amplify our impact.

We are an agile and creative organisation, funded by UK Research and Innovation, Research England, Wellcome, Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, Scottish Funding Council and the Department for Employment and Learning, Northern Ireland. The Centre is jointly hosted by University of the West of England (UWE) and University of Bristol (UoB), benefitting from being part of two vibrant universities. This role is being recruited through UWE.

The NCCPE is involved a wide range of activities, and we are looking for two Project Administrators to help us deliver our expanding portfolio of work. These roles will be involved in a range of exciting projects and, primarily, will provide underpinning support to our project managers on planning, actioning and progress reporting. Your role could include helping us to plan and deliver a sector-wide engagement process which will involve workshops, webinars and other events with people from both inside and outside of HE. You may also help support our communications, posting content to our website and to social media, and help to plan and deliver our major NCCPE conference, planned for Spring 2026. You may also help support the development of our training and the other services we offer to higher education providers.

These will be varied and interesting roles, so come and join our friendly, busy team based at 4, Portwall Place in central Bristol – and help unlock the potential of universities to make a positive difference to society.

You will have good customer service skills, be able to support events and external meetings and manage queries from delegates. Lastly, you will need good IT skills (including ideally using platforms such as Zoom and Teams) and the ability manage competing demands and work to tight deadlines. If you have additional skills around digital content creation, social media management and/or video editing skills this would be an advantage.
