Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a Progressive Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Management to join the Medicines Management Team. It is a permanent post at Band 4-5 with progression to senior level and a focus on patient care, medicines reconciliation, and discharge support.

The role offers development within a dynamic clinical environment, with flexible working options and a strong emphasis on teamwork and quality care for patients across the hospital.

Qualifications

• UK GPhC registration as a pharmacy technician or equivalent.
• GCSE maths and English A*–C or equivalent; IELTS 7 if overseas.
• Additional pharmacy qualifications (ACPT, PIPC, TAQA, CIPS level 4) or demonstrable management experience.
• Completion of Practice supervisor programme or equivalent.
• Experience with day-to-day operational staff and workload management.

Responsibilities

• Completing medicines reconciliation for patients across care groups.
• Support ward-level dispensing of discharge medicines (TTOs).
• Counselling patients on medicines to support safe use and adherence.
