An educational institution in York is looking for a professional to support and coach students towards their educational goals. The role includes delivering tutorials and tracking student progress in the Hair & Beauty curriculum. Strong communication skills and experience in mentoring are essential. This position focuses on student independence and employability activities.
This varied role is the key point of contact between the College and the student and their parents/carers and employers where appropriate. You will focus on supporting and coaching students to meet or exceed stretching targets, to develop as independent learners and to prepare for their next steps in education or industry. You will undertake several functions within the role, including the delivery of individual and group Professional and Development sessions (tutorials) and creation of resources, as well as tracking and supporting academic and personal progress; enterprise, progression and employability activities; supporting applications to higher education and/or employment; work experience planning, and reviewing and steering careers research; liaising with curriculum area team members and parents/carers to ensure students are focused, attending, performing well and enjoying their studies. This role will predominantly be based within the Creative Directorate in particular the Hair & Beauty curriculum area, however there will be a requirement for candidates to work across other areas where needed.
