Job summary

Carefor is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan and facilitate engaging programs for clients and caregivers, ensuring a vibrant environment across wellness dimensions.

You will draft communications, build partnerships, and coordinate intake with guidance from the Centre Leader. A health services background, event planning skills, and strong computer literacy are required. HOOPP pension and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Gerontology, Dementia Studies, Recreation Therapy, Social Service Worker, or other health services field.
• Certification in Volunteer Coordination an asset.
• Food Handlers Certificate an asset.
• First Aid and CPR an asset.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in program coordination.
• Public speaking experience.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Alaya Care.
• Knowledge of event planning practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of marketing and promotional practices.
• Knowledge and experience in program planning, facilitation, implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Recommends, develops, implements, facilitates, and evaluates diversified programs with wellness in mind.
• Drafts communication tools (newsletters, posters, notices, calendars, posts) to inform clients and volunteers.
• Creates a safe and pleasant recreational environment to stimulate participation.
• Develops and fosters community partnerships to enhance client support.
• Liaises with other agencies to plan and deliver events and programs.
• Collaborates with marketing to promote events and programs.
• Organizes supplies, equipment, and resources for programs.
• Provides information and coordinates services for clients and caregivers.
• Keeps client and volunteer files updated in the information system.
• Participates in fundraising activities and reviews client billable services.
