Job summary

Penrose Care Home in Biggleswade (Kings Reach) is seeking an Activities Coordinator on a contract basis to enhance daily life with engaging, person-centred activities for up to 65 residents. The role focuses on wellbeing, independence and social interaction, delivering a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities.

You will build relationships with residents and families, plan and run activities, and collaborate with the wider team to maintain a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities.
• A genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs.
• Build strong relationships to understand preferences and support inclusive participation for all individuals, including those living with dementia.
• Work as part of the wider team to contribute to a positive and stimulating environment.
