Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Programme Management Office Analyst to collect, analyse and interpret data to support the Council's strategic, operational and statutory responsibilities. Your work will provide valuable insights that help measure performance, inform decision-making and ensure resources are used effectively.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of data and information management principles, processes and best practice.
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to generate meaningful insights.
  • Experience gathering, interpreting and presenting complex information in reports and recommendations.
  • Strong IT skills, including the ability to manipulate data and produce clear outputs using appropriate software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to different audiences.
  • The confidence to advise, influence and persuade others using evidence-based insights.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Job description

Salary: £39,862 to £42,839 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full time - 37 hours per week (potential for part-time opportunities/flexible working)
Location: based at County Hall - Chichester with hybrid working available

The Programme Management Office (PMO) within the Highways, Transport and Planning Directorate is recruiting for this important role within its team. The PMO currently oversees a programme of projects worth more than £100 million, helping to deliver improvements that benefit residents across West Sussex.

About the role

As a Programme Management Office Analyst, you will collect, analyse and interpret data to support the Council's strategic, operational and statutory responsibilities. Your work will provide valuable insights that help measure performance, inform decision-making and ensure resources are used effectively.

You will:

  • Collect and analyse data from a variety of sources.
  • Produce insightful reports, dashboards and performance information.

You will enjoy working with large datasets and be confident using technology to manipulate and present information. Experience in a performance-focused, programme, project or financial environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
