West Sussex County Council is looking for a Programme & Governance Support Officer to enhance community services by managing Lane Rental Surplus Funds. Salary: £31,586 to £34,314 per annum.
Working pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent.
Location: Your base location is Durban House, Bognor Regis however, temporarily you will be based at County Hall, Chichester. You will have opportunity to work from home in alignment with the service needs.
Employer Pension Contribution: 18.70% this alters per annum on the 1 April each year.
Annual leave: 27 days holiday + Bank holidays = 35 days.
As Programme & Governance Officer, you will support the governance and use of Lane Rental Surplus Funds in liaison with the Lane Rental Surplus Fund (LRSF) Chair and supporting the Lane Rental Governance Group (LRGG).
You will oversee the promotion of funds, applying processes, consultations, project delivery, and outcome evaluation, managing administration and communication. This involves identifying stakeholders and potential applicant, conducting feasibility studies, processing applications, collecting data, preparing reports, and supporting project commissioning and monitoring.
Your role includes engaging with stakeholders and local government bodies, assisting the Chair in informing them about available funds and applying criteria, distributing relevant documents, planning LRGG meetings, scheduling the Chair's presence at meetings, coordinating applications and reports, liaising with Democratic Services, and preparing cabinet and committee papers.
You will provide detailed advice and guidance to a range of audiences in support of LRGG, including responding to queries and problems, and influencing and persuading individuals through the development of effective relationships.

You may need to be able to travel independently to various meeting venues, and to undertake occasional walked site visits across the county. The role may occasionally require attending outdoor events, which may occur during inclement weather, as well as a requirement to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
