Job description

ZeroAvia is seeking a Programme Manager to join its team in Kemble, UK, with responsibility for managing the delivery of powertrain and hydrogen projects. ZeroAvia’s aim is to design and commercialize hydrogen-powered aviation solutions to address sub-regional and short-haul commercial flights up to 500 miles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a range of hydrogen-electric powertrain certification projects, including full engine system test programmes and aircraft integration certification.

ZeroAvia is at the forefront of a new clean aviation ecosystem, and the successful candidate will join a world-class team passionate about designing and delivering solutions that are not just carbon-emission free but also cost-effective.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and drive teams to deliver on objectives, managing and working with internal and external stakeholders, and suppliers.
  2. Set and drive the program cadence, including standups, tasking and tracking, retrospectives, and communications within the project and to company stakeholders.
  3. Develop high-level and detailed delivery plans with the engineering team and senior management.
  4. Build, secure, and control the program budget.
  5. Develop resource plans and coordinate with colleagues in the PMO and engineering to prioritize and optimize resource use.
  6. Identify and manage risks, solving issues proactively.
  7. Solve problems, eliminate waste, and maximize the team’s impact.
  8. Ensure core programme management processes are implemented, including budget control, cost analysis, risk management, and change controls.
  9. Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams such as engineering, testing, supply chain, and customer support, aligned with ZeroAvia’s principles.
  10. Work closely with management to define business objectives and ensure programmes support long-term strategic planning.
Requirements
  1. Experience managing complex engineering projects and delivering aerospace products through certification.
  2. Ability to understand engineering issues and fundamentals of new systems to inform project decisions.
  3. Proven leadership of cross-functional teams in a complex engineering environment.
  4. Proficiency with project management tools such as MSP and JIRA.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze data and technical issues to find value.
  7. Ability to prioritize tasks, identify key efforts, and multitask effectively.
  8. Availability for occasional domestic and international travel.
