Job summary

James Frank Associates Ltd. represents a prestigious US law firm in London seeking a Senior Professional Development Specialist to support delivery and continuous improvement of legal and professional development across the office.

You will work closely with teams to tailor training, manage schedules, coordinate conferences and oversee the LMS, ensuring CPD compliance and high-quality learning experiences for lawyers at all levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Learning and Development within a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Identify learning needs and coordinate professional development training.
• Publish and maintain internal training schedules.
• Plan and deliver European conferences—coordinate speakers and logistics.
• Attend live sessions to monitor quality, engagement and compliance.
• Develop and manage trainee curriculum and induction process.
• Oversee the firm’s Learning Management System data quality and CPD records.
• Regularly review professional development processes.
• Provide PD advice and guidance to colleagues as the go-to expert.

Job description

Our client, an elite US Law Firm is seeking a Senior Professional Development Specialist – to join them on a full-time, permanent basis at an extremely exciting time.

Due to growth within the firm our client is looking to add a Senior Professional Development Specialist to their team, where you will be working closely with the team to support the delivery and continuous improvement of legal and professional development for the London office.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar Professional Development role within a Law Firm, and will be experienced in advising on learning strategy, Lawyer development and training operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the team to identify learning needs and coordinate legal and professional development training
• Publish and maintain internal training schedules
• Support planning and delivery of Europeanbased conferences – coordinating speakers, managing logistics and overseeing venue
• Attend and monitor live sessions for quality, engagement and compliance
• Develop and manage the trainee curriculum and induction process
• Act as a key point of contact for the firms’ Learning Management System – overseeing data quality and CPD records
• Ensure professional development processes are regularly reviewed
• Confidently act as the goto for Professional Development advice and guidance when required

Key Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Learning and Development role within a Law firm
• Degreeeducated
• Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the SRA Continuing Competence framework and European CPD regimes
• Excellent communicator, confident working with colleagues across the firm of all levels
• Genuine enthusiasm and interest in professional development with a passion for supporting others within the firm
