Job summary

Partnership Recruiting is seeking a proactive Project Co-ordinator to join a growing engineering business in Scotland. You will develop and manage production and resource plans across a varied project portfolio, collaborating with Production, Project Management and Commercial teams to pre-empt challenges and optimise resource use.

The role involves maintaining project plans with MS Project and Excel, tracking progress, and supporting HR related administration as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Project Coordination, Production Planning, or Resource Planning role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project planning software.
• Experience managing schedules, resources and project reporting.
• Understanding of project planning and delivery.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing/production environment is desirable.
• Willingness to learn and develop within an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop production resource plans across current and upcoming projects.
• Liaise with Commercial teams to understand upcoming projects, resource requirements and potential impacts on existing workloads.
• Reviewing and updating individual project plans using Microsoft Project and Excel.
• Tracking project progress and ensuring plans accurately reflect current status and expected completion dates.
• Supporting the Production Management team with daily and weekly task planning.
• Identifying resource shortages, absences, delays and other issues that could impact delivery.
• Collating and checking timekeeping, absence and timesheet information for production teams.
• Supporting Production Management with HR processes and employee-related administration where required.

Are you an experienced Production Planner or Resource Planner looking for a new role within a growing engineering business that continues to win new contracts and expand its project portfolio?

We are working with a leading engineering business that has built an excellent reputation for high-quality project delivery. Due to continued growth they are looking for an organised and proactive Project Co-ordinator to join their team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for creating and managing production and resource plans across a varied project portfolio.

You will work closely with Production, Project Management and Commercial teams to ensure resources are effectively planned and that potential challenges are identified and addressed at an early stage.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining production resource plans across current and upcoming projects
• Liaising with Commercial teams to understand upcoming projects, resource requirements and potential impacts on existing workloads
• Reviewing and updating individual project plans using Microsoft Project and Excel
• Tracking project progress and ensuring plans accurately reflect current status and expected completion dates
• Supporting the Production Management team with daily and weekly task planning
• Identifying resource shortages, absences, delays and other operational issues that could impact project delivery
• Developing schedules to ensure resources, equipment and operational activities are effectively coordinated
• Supporting resource forecasting and identifying potential recruitment requirements
• Collating and checking timekeeping, absence and timesheet information for production teams
• Supporting Production Management with relevant HR processes and employee-related administration where required

Working Relationships

You will work collaboratively across the business building strong relationships with:

• Production Management, Supervisors and Engineers
• Commercial and operational teams
• Wider business functions to ensure information is communicated effectively

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in a Project Coordination, Production Planning, Resource Planning or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project planning software
• Experience managing schedules, resources and project reporting
• An understanding of project planning and delivery
• Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing / production or operational environment is desirable
• A willingness to ask questions, understand problems and find practical solutions

Although industry-specific experience is preferred it is not essential, the key requirement is strong planning, coordination and resource management experience, together with a willingness to learn and develop within a specialist engineering environment.
