Job Description
Wood is recruiting for Production Technicians on an 18-month fixed-term basis for CNOOC Golden Eagle. This role mobilizes from Aberdeen on a 2*3 rotation.
Responsibilities
Role Overview:
- Production technicians should have an overall working knowledge of plant, process, and associated equipment for their specific industry. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and operating equipment,
- Gathering data and maintaining records,
- Carrying out isolations and de-isolations as required,
- Preparation of work permits,
- Preparation of complex items of plant and equipment for maintenance and start-up.
- Identifying production malfunctions or failures within the plant/process/equipment.
- Carrying out first-line corrections if required.
- Interpreting Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID).
- Fully familiar with and competent to operate essential safety equipment.
- Undertaking task-based risk assessments and mitigating hazards according to company procedures.
- Communicating effectively in verbal, written, and IT formats for shift handovers and information transfer.
- Understanding industrial processes and practices.
Qualifications
Prerequisite/Premobilisation Qualification Requirements:
- S&VQ Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons at Level 3 or relevant apprenticeship, or HNC/D with experience.
- Suitable experience in the role.
Knowledge & Skills
- Competency in observing, gathering, and reporting process data, performing isolations, diagnosing faults with plant/process/equipment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and safe working practices.
- Understanding responsibilities regarding reporting lines and procedures.
- Knowledge of preparation and reinstatement requirements for work areas, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to suggest and develop modifications to improve plant/equipment efficiency and safety.
- Proper use of tools and equipment, following relevant training and safety procedures.
- Understanding defect types and appropriate actions.
- Utilizing digital information, technology, and equipment.
- Correct use of permitting and authorization procedures.
- Ability to interpret P&ID drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Identifying and assisting with remedial activities for plant/process/equipment defects.
- Awareness of safe isolation and reinstatement guidance.
