Job summary

Cook Trading Limited in Sittingbourne, Kent is recruiting Casual Kitchen Prep Assistants to help prepare premium Christmas products in our Food Preparation department. The role runs 26-06-26 to 04-12-26 with hours Monday to Friday 8am–4pm and pay £14.00 per hour.

You will cut, weigh, and prepare meat, poultry, and seafood, maintain cleanliness, follow food safety procedures, and support the wider kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Comfortable handling and working with raw meat products.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Confident using kitchen knives and food preparation equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen, catering, food production, or food manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carefully cutting, weighing, and measuring ingredients following clear instructions.
• Preparing meat, poultry, and seafood by cutting and processing ready for cooking.
• Preparing Christmas centrepieces, turkeys, ducks, and geese.
• Chopping using kitchen knives safely and confidently.
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team with a variety of preparation tasks.

Based at Sittingbourne Business Park, Cook Kitchen is located just a 10‑minute walk from Sittingbourne train station, making it easily accessible for those travelling by public transport.

The Role

As a Kitchen Prep Assistant, you'll play a vital role in preparing products to the highest standards. Duties include:
