Job summary

Cook Trading Limited in Chichester is seeking a Christmas Casual Retail Team Member to join our shop during the festive period. The role focuses on delivering remarkable service, assisting customers with menus and offers, keeping the shop clean and stocked, handling till duties, and supporting deliveries and stock checks.

Previous retail experience is welcome but not essential; full training is provided and we offer benefits and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience is helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn COOK products and offerings.
• Friendly, proactive approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Offer remarkable service; the customer is the focus of every interaction.
• Help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions; discuss offers and promotions.
• Keep the shop immaculate, stocked, rotated, and ensure freezers are full.
• Operate the till efficiently and accurately.
• Understand shop paperwork and required legal checks.
• Open and close shop; manage end-of-day reconciliation.
• Check deliveries, place orders, and assist with stock taking as required.
• Present a smart appearance with apron and name badge at all times.

Hours:Casual/ Fixed Term

Pay rate :£13.45 Per Hour

Join Our Retail Team! There’s more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that’s thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We’re looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business – make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop,End-of-day reconciliation
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
