Job description

Production Team Leader

We are recruiting for a Production Team Leader for our client based in Talke. The role involves overseeing the daily execution of production, delivery, and despatch plans across all production streams. It is a hands-on role that includes physical tasks and light administrative duties. The successful candidate will manage their time effectively to ensure all operations, quality standards, and Health and Safety requirements are met in line with business objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee a team of four Production Operatives to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all plant and equipment.
2. Serve as the first point of contact for shift operators requiring guidance or support in the absence of the Production Manager.
3. Onboard and train new operators, ensuring all training records are completed and signed off.
4. Adhere to process and quality procedures, maintaining documentation and escalating issues promptly.
5. Minimize product loss and waste through efficient manufacturing practices.
6. Manage in-process procedures, including paperwork, material and product testing, stock control, machinery setup, and product labeling.
7. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site organization for a safe and efficient environment.
8. Communicate issues or improvement suggestions to relevant departments.
9. Support site security by managing facility opening and closing.
10. Collaborate with the wider production team to ensure safety and compliance.

Experience and Qualifications

• Valid FLT (Counterbalance) license with practical experience.
• Experience operating Teletruck equipment.
• Certified First Aid training and practical application.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and procedures.
• Experience with internal audits and stock-taking processes.
• Familiarity with quality management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.

Additional Details

• Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Salary: £35,000 per annum.
• Holidays: 33 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
