Production Supervisor - Days

Salary: Basic £31,600 with Overtime circa £35,000

Industry: Manufacturing

Team: Managing a small team of approximately 16 staff

Hours: Standard 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30. Overtime often required during the busy season (January - April).

My client, a dynamic and ambitious manufacturing company, is seeking a Day-based Production Supervisor for their site in Henstridge, located between Wincanton and Yeovil. The company supplies fertilisers to the amenity Turf market (e.g., football pitches, bowling greens) and has recently joined a global group.

Role:

The successful candidate, a Production Team Leader or Supervisor, will report to the Production Manager and oversee approximately 16 staff. The role involves ensuring the production facility operates efficiently, including preparing, manufacturing, packing, warehousing, receiving, and dispatching materials and products. It requires hands-on involvement in factory activities when needed. Supporting the Production Manager, the role aims to achieve low-cost production, plan conformance, maximum capacity, optimal yield, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, assist, and deputise for the Production Manager and leadership team as needed.
• Maintain robust Health & Safety standards.
• Ensure quality standards for products and materials, waste management, and housekeeping are consistently met.
• Organise and monitor all production activities and team members.
• Achieve production plans efficiently and strive for continuous performance improvement.
• Monitor results, provide feedback, and ensure accurate shop floor data collection.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work additional overtime during peak season (January-April).

This role is suitable for candidates with experience as a Shift Manager, Shift Controller, Production Controller, or Production Supervisor. It is commutable from Wincanton, Shepton Mallet, Yeovil, Henstridge, Bruton, and Shaftesbury.
