Job summary

VetPlus Limited is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing operation in Lytham. This hands-on leader will motivate teams, deliver production targets, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output to meet customer demand.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing & Engineering, you will oversee day-to-day production, supervise team leaders and operators, manage staffing and training, analyse performance data, and

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or managing production in manufacturing.
• Able to lead and develop teams to meet targets and deadlines.
• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Comfort analysing production data and KPIs to drive improvements.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office; ERP experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise machine Team Leaders and Operators across the production area.
• Ensure production plans and schedules are delivered effectively and efficiently.
• Monitor productivity, output, labour utilisation and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality and productivity.
• Manage staffing levels, training and workforce deployment.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Customer Service.
• Maintain housekeeping, health & safety and regulatory compliance.
• Produce and analyse production reports and metrics.
• Support change projects and process improvements.
• Foster a high-performing team culture through coaching and leadership.

Location: Boundary Road, Lytham
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
Salary: £16 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing operation in Lytham. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on leader who can motivate teams, deliver production targets, and drive continuous improvement within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing & Engineering, you will oversee day‑to‑day production operations, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while meeting customer demand and delivery deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supervising machine Team Leaders and Operators across the production area.
• Ensuring production plans and schedules are delivered effectively and efficiently.
• Monitoring productivity, output, labour utilisation, and operational performance.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Managing staffing levels, training requirements, and workforce deployment.
• Working closely with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to maintain smooth operations.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Producing and analysing production reports, performance metrics, and operational data.
• Supporting change management projects and process improvements across the manufacturing function.
• Building a positive, high‑performing team culture through coaching, communication, and leadership.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous supervisory or production management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Is a confident people leader who can motivate, develop, and engage teams.
• Possesses excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Has strong problem‑solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Is comfortable analysing operational data and performance metrics.
• Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Can prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure.
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Is proactive, reliable, adaptable, and capable of working on their own initiative.
• Has experience of Sage or similar ERP/business systems (desirable but not essential).
