Are you an experienced Production Team Leader looking to take the next step in your manufacturing career?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established global manufacturing business seeking a motivated and hands‑on Production Team Leader to join their production operation in Tewkesbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong people manager who is passionate about safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Working closely with the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading day‑to‑day production activities, driving KPI performance, developing your team, and ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in creating a positive, accountable, and high‑performing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities - Production Team Leader

• Support factory planning activities and deputise for the Production Manager when required.
• Lead the achievement of production KPIs and drive improvements to operational performance.
• Identify and implement solutions to production challenges and bottlenecks.
• Plan labour requirements and proactively address resourcing concerns.
• Ensure daily production output is accurately recorded and reported.
• Manage disciplinary, capability, and performance-related matters in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor attendance and sickness levels, conducting return‑to‑work interviews when required.
• Carry out appraisals and performance reviews, identifying training and development needs.
• Lead root cause analysis activities and implement corrective actions to improve quality performance.
• Support the standardisation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Take responsibility for opening and closing the factory when required.
• Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with customer, quality, and industry standards.
• Foster a culture of engagement, innovation, teamwork, and accountability.

Key Experience & Qualifications - Production Team Leader

• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership or line management experience.
• Engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within manufacturing.
• Experience managing employee performance, development, and attendance.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and lead teams effectively.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Continuous improvement and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
