Production Supervisor -
Location: Witney Salary: 39,000
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a busy manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will lead a team of approximately 6-10 production operatives, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, quality and efficiency.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment and be confident leading a team while remaining hands-on with day-to-day production.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 6-10 production operatives.
- Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Lead by example and remain hands-on throughout the manufacturing process.
- Support the operations using Counterbalance FLT and assist with stacking finished products in the yard.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance where required.
- Monitor material and ancillary stock levels and report shortages to the Production Manager.
- Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of products within your area.
- Ensure production areas and batching areas are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping.
- Train and support new operatives, ensuring they understand processes, quality standards and safe working practices.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Identify and escalation any Health & Safety, quality, equipment or personnel issues.
- Maintain clear communication with production operatives, supervisors and management.
About You
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control.
- Experience working to production targets and tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and confidence carrying out routine equipment checks.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team management abilities.
- A proactive, reliable and hands-on approach.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Counterbalance FLT licence/experience.
