Job summary

Personnel Selection are recruiting two Production Supervisors for our client in Bognor Regis. The role requires a hands-on leader with manufacturing experience and a proactive approach to team management on a rotating shift pattern.

You will supervise machinists and production operatives, ensure schedules and targets are met, and drive health and safety and quality across the shift. Flexibility to cover all rotations is essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team-leader experience in manufacturing or production.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support production staff during your shift.
• Ensure production schedules and service level agreements are met.
• Allocate labour and resources to maximise efficiency.
• Monitor daily production performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Complete production reporting and system checks.
• Record production output, WIP and performance metrics.
• Ensure effective communication during shift handover.
• Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
• Carry out daily safety inspections and complete documentation.
• Ensure correct PPE usage across the workforce.
• Report machine breakdowns and quality concerns through procedures.
• Support planned preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Administer attendance and absence reporting.
• Maintain staff rotas and workforce planning schedules.
• Support inductions, training and development.
• Assist with performance management and team development.
• Undertake additional duties to support operational needs.

This position operates on a rotating Treble Shift Pattern:

• 06:00 - 14:00
• 14:00 - 22:00
• 22:00 - 06:00

Candidates must be flexible to work all shift rotations. Due to the location of the site and shift start/finish times, a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is strongly preferred.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, health and safety requirements, and service level expectations are achieved across your shift.You will lead by example, motivate production teams, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation. This is a fast paced machining environment and you will supervising machinists and production operatives. This is a hands on role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with employee performance management and team development.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED:

• Previous supervisory or team leader experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Happy to undertake job specific and machine specific training.

WHATS ON OFFER?

• Starting salary of £14.15 per hour (£28,203 per annum)
• Increase to £14.90 per hour (£29,698 per annum) following successful completion o
