Job summary

Advantage Resourcing UK Ltd is partnering with a well-established engineering business to recruit an experienced Production Supervisor for a full-time role in Manchester. You will supervise a team of operators and apprentices, allocate work and coordinate with production schedulers to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in a production supervisor role, preferably in metal manufacturing (sheet metal or machining), and a strong commitment to safety and 5S standards.

Production Supervisor

Certain Advantage is partnering with a well-established engineering business to recruit an experienced Production Supervisor on a full time basis.In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of operators and apprentices – including work allocation within a metal manufacturing environment.

Relevant Experience Required

• Must be committed to working safely and comply with the 5S standards in place.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a production supervisor role
• Ideally from a metallic (sheet metal or machining) manufacturing environment

Main responsibilities:

• Responsible for supervising a team of operators and apprentices including work allocation.
• Working closely with the production schedulers to plan capacity and ensure that the required operations are completed on time
• Ensure that lean manufacturing operational practices are in place and that wastes [8 waste] are eliminated
• Actively resolve operational issues and ensure high levels of quality are achieved

Personal skills/qualifications:

• Be pro-active whenproblem solving, effective decision making, pragmatic and solution based forward thinking
• Must be highly professional when interacting internally and externally; verbally + email communication and be able to manage time and tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Requirements:

Due to the nature of the work, you must have the ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) - must meet standard UK nationality/residency eligibility requirements for site access.
