Job summary

Recruit Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for a permanent role in Stockport. You will lead production teams to ensure safe, efficient manufacture of high-quality products, while controlling costs and driving continuous improvements.

A strong focus on planning, reporting and KPI management is required. The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing or engineering qualification, leadership experience, and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• HND/degree in Manufacturing or Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience leading Manufacturing or Production teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of safe manufacturing practices and risk management.
• Experience leading teams in engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Production planning, scheduling and recovery plan implementation.
• Resource planning and workforce management.
• KPI reporting and operational performance monitoring.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing teams in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ensure products are delivered on time, to quality standards and within cost targets.
• Manage daily production activities and schedule adherence.
• Develop and implement recovery plans where targets are at risk.
• Allocate and redeploy labour resources to meet business demands.
• Manage employee attendance, holidays, absence and welfare activities.
• Support training, development and competency management of production personnel.
• Produce and communicate operational performance reports and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and quality management systems.
• Conduct daily team briefings and shift communications.
• Maintain SQCDP and continuous improvement performance measures.
• Drive workplace organisation and high housekeeping standards.
• Support wider operational requirements across the business.

A well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation with a long history of delivering complex mechanical systems to highly regulated industries is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to join its operations team.

The company operates from a modern engineering and manufacturing facility in the North West and is recognised for delivering high-quality engineered products and assemblies to customers across specialist sectors.

The Role

The Manufacturing Supervisor will lead production teams to ensure the safe, efficient and timely manufacture of products, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost control and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing teams in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ensure products are delivered on time, to quality standards and within cost targets.
• Manage daily production activities and schedule adherence.

Candidate Requirements

Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following areas:

Essential

• HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of safe manufacturing practices and risk management.
• Experience leading teams within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Production planning, scheduling and recovery plan implementation.
• Resource planning and workforce management.
• KPI reporting and operational performance monitoring.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance planning.
• Experience conducting employee performance reviews.
• Cross-functional project and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies.
