Job summary

Vision Architectural Glazing Installations Limited is seeking a Stores/Despatch Operative for our Lakenheath facility. You will manage receiving, storage, and issuing materials to support production and ensure timely deliveries.

Key duties include inventory control, accuracy checks, and adherence to safety standards. The role offers full-time or part-time hours, with a focus on reliability, teamwork, and clear communication to keep operations flowing smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Receiving materials: unloading, verifying quantity and quality against orders.
• Inventory storage and organisation in designated secure locations.
• Material issuance: transferring materials to production per schedule.
• Stock monitoring and reporting: reconciling physical stock with records.
• Maintaining safety standards and a clean, safe work area.
• Manage physical control, storage, and issuance of materials and finished goods.

Job description

Ensuring effective operation of our factory facility - maintaining production flow, stock accuracy, compliance and delivery. Managing the flow of materials & packaging, ensuring the right items are available at the right time. Enabling the team to produce quality products, to schedule, delivered to customers on time, whilst maximising efficiencies and minimising waste, where possible.

Day-to-day operations

• Receiving Materials: Unloading, identifying, and verifying the quantity and quality of incoming raw materials against purchase orders.
• Inventory Storage & Organization: Organizing materials in designated, secure locations for safe storage, easy identification, and efficient retrieval.
• Material Issuance: Safely handling and transferring raw materials from storage to the production line based on production schedules.
• Stock Monitoring & Reporting: Conducting inventory checks to compare physical stock with digital records, identifying discrepancies, and managing inventory levels.
• Maintaining Safety Standards: Maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent damage to materials and ensure safety regulations are met.

Managing the physical control, storage, and issuance of materials, components, and finished goods.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience of stores or despatch work in same or similar role
• Good attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach with high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

OTHER

• Have a current full driving licence
• Must have full access to transport to, from and during work

Location: Lakenheath factory (Suffolk)
