Job summary

Medik8 is seeking a Production Planner (Blending) to own the blending schedule, coordinate material availability, and drive end-to-end workflow across functions. You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure on-time production while maintaining quality and cost targets.

This onsite role requires strong Excel and MRP proficiency, along with analytical thinking, excellent communication, and proactive problem-solving to optimise capacity and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Ownership: lead and maintain blending production schedule and plans to meet demand while monitoring adherence with Manufacturing Manager.
• Material & Inventory Optimisation: work with Material Buyer and MRP to secure materials, reduce stockouts and waste.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, QC, R&D, Demand Planning and Procurement.
• Continuous Improvement: analyse data to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
• Long-Range Capacity Planning: plan up to 9 months ahead to anticipate capacity constraints.

Production Planner (Blending)

Reporting to the Production Planner Lead, you will be the key operational driver behind our blending operations, ensuring our schedules meet dynamic demand while upholding our high standards for quality and operational efficiency.
Salary £38,000 - £40,000
Working Pattern: Onsite, 5 days per week

The Role

• Schedule Ownership: Lead and maintain the blending production schedule, creating clear, actionable plans to meet finished goods demand while daily monitoring adherence alongside the Manufacturing Manager.
• Material & Inventory Optimisation: Work closely with the Material Buyer using MRP systems to ensure timely raw material availability, preventing stockouts, reducing waste, and improving inventory KPIs.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Build collaborative partnerships across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control, R&D, Demand Planning, and Procurement to ensure a smooth, end-to-end workflow.
• Continuous Improvement: Use analytical insights to identify process bottlenecks, optimise equipment utilisation, and implement cost-effective operational improvements.
• Long-Range Capacity Planning: Conduct multi-month forward planning (up to 9 months) to anticipate capacity constraints and maintain operational visibility across the organisation.

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable experience as a production planner within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High proficiency using production planning software, MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel to manage inventory boards and production data.
• Strong analytic and diagnostic skills, with the ability to turn production data into continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and align priorities across cross-functional teams.
• Strong organisation and self-management skills, bringing a proactive, solution-oriented approach to complex daily schedules.

Desirable Criteria

• Prior experience within cosmetics, personal care, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience executing continuous improvement projects focused on resource utilisation or bottleneck reduction. About us
