We are currently recruiting a production planner for our growing client in Newton Aycliffe.
We are ideally sourcing for a person who can work under pressure to assist a team in all aspects of production planning
Skills and Experience required -
- Proven experience in planning, production control, purchasing , supply chain coordination, operations, or a closely related manufacturing support function
- Strong practical experience in production planning, scheduling, material availability, order fulfilment or operational coordination within a manufacturing, FMCG or similar fast moving environment.
- Confident managing supplier communication, purchase order progression, delivery expediting, and resolution of supply issues
- Ability to take ownership of priorities, manage deadlines, and able to make practical decisions to keep production moving
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and commercial awareness
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/ office with the ability to maintain accurate planning records
- Experience of using ERP/MRP stock control systems
Key Responsibilities -
- Take responsibility for coordinating production plans and schedules, in line with customer orders, stock availability, material supply
- Create, maintain and continually update production schedules to support on time delivery
- Monitor customer order progress from receipt through to fulfilment, identifying risks, and capacity constraints
- Work closely with production , Sales, Warehouse, logistics and purchasing
- Maintain accurate planning information within company systems
- Support decision making by highlighting shortages, bottlenecks, late orders and operational constraints before they impact customer delivery
- Manage the raising, monitoring and progression of purchase orders to ensure materials and bought in goods are available inline with production and customer requirements
- Maintain regular contact with suppliers to confirm delivery dates, identify issues
- Support supplier performance monitoring by tracking delivery reliability, shortages, delays, and recurring supply issues
