Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Production Planner for an engineering company in Bredbury, Stockport, on a full‑time permanent basis. You will develop route cards, manage ERP/MRP processes, and ensure materials and kits are available for manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Develop route cards to optimise manufacturing methods and liaise with the programming department.
• Issue documentation to the shop floor via work to lists.
• Coordinate with Stores / Goods Inwards to ensure materials and kits are available for manufacture & assembly.
• Control rework operations by modifying route sheets as required.
• Participate in Pre-production meetings to determine optimal methods.
• Assist Production Scheduler to ensure each work centre is effectively loaded.
• Provide input on cost and lead time to support quotations.

Job description

Contek Recruitment are currently working with a specialist Engineering company, based in Bredbury, Stockport. Due to continued growth and success, they are recruiting for a Production Planner to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (08:00 AM until 16:30 PM) and Friday (08:00 AM until 15:30 PM)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop route cards to ensure the most economic and efficient methods of manufacture, liaising with the programming department.
• Ensure all documentation is issued to the shop floor in a timely manner via work to lists.
• Work in conjunction with Stores / Goods Inwards to ensure all materials and Kits are available for manufacture & Assembly.
• Control all rework operation as a result of NCR’s modifying route sheets if required.
• Participate in Pre-production Meetings to determine optimal manufacturing methods.
• Assist the Production Scheduler to ensure each work centre is effectively loaded.
• Provide advice and assistance to the Sales Department to enable quotations to be accurate in terms of cost and lead time.

Requirements:

• Experience of scheduling CNC machining operations and outside services desirable but not essential.
• Experience of using and working within an ERP/MRP System environment.
• Responsiveness and ability to work to tight deadlines/schedules.
• Be able to work independently under pressure.
• Fully IT proficient in typically used applications to both manage information and present to the business and customers
