Climb Recruitment Ltd in Stockport is seeking a Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will create and manage job card routings, allocate work across multiple stages, and ensure accurate documentation and timely information flow between departments.

The role requires ERP/MRP experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Salary is negotiable DOE and position is on site in the Bredbury area.

Qualifications

  • Experience scheduling CNC machining operations and external services desirable.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Fully IT-proficient in commonly used business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop route cards to ensure economical and efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Issue shop-floor documentation in a timely manner via work-to lists.
  • Coordinate with Stores/Goods Inwards to ensure materials and kits are available for manufacture.
  • Control rework operations resulting from NCRs, updating route sheets where required.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to determine optimal manufacturing methods.
  • Support the Production Scheduler to ensure each work centre is effectively loaded.
  • Provide costing and lead-time support to Sales to ensure accurate quotations.

Role: Production Planner

Role Overview

The Production Planner will join a busy and fast‑paced production team, responsible for creating and managing job card routings and allocating work across multiple manufacturing stages. The role ensures efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and strong coordination between departments

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop route cards to ensure the most economical and efficient manufacturing methods, working closely with the Programming Department
  • Issue shop‑floor documentation in a timely manner via work‑to lists
  • Coordinate with Stores/Goods Inwards to ensure all materials and kits are available for manufacture and assembly
  • Control rework operations resulting from NCRs, updating route sheets where required
  • Participate in pre‑production meetings to determine optimal manufacturing methods
  • Support the Production Scheduler to ensure each work centre is effectively loaded
  • Provide costing and lead‑time support to the Sales Department to ensure accurate quotations

  • Report directly to the Production Planning Lead
  • Produce shop‑floor documentation to required standards, efficiently and on time
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S programme
  • Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and attendance
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience scheduling CNC machining operations and external services is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system environment
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Fully IT‑proficient in commonly used business applications
