Job summary

Marshalls plc in Bridgend, Wales, is seeking a Production Operative on a permanent basis to manufacture decorative architectural masonry and other concrete products to customer specifications. The role is hands-on, involves manual handling, and requires use of powered hand tools and production machinery; training will be provided during onboarding.

You will set up, operate, monitor and optimise machinery, perform routine checks, record data on quality, downtime and waste, and support Engineering

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial manufacturing machinery in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to carry out machine changeovers and basic fault-finding.
• Knowledge of KPIs including OEE, productivity, quality and waste reduction.
• Experience with quality inspections and meeting specifications.
• Ability to read production documents and work instructions.
• Experience using powered hand tools and lifting equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and optimise production machinery to hit targets.
• Carry out routine machine checks and minor adjustments.
• Record production, downtime and waste data accurately.
• Escalate equipment issues to Engineering/Maintenance.
• Support training of new team members.
• Participate in CI projects to improve efficiency and cost.
