Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Production Operative for shift work to operate and set up machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in the Abbottsley area. You will contribute to production targets, perform quality checks and help minimise waste while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

The role requires a positive, proactive attitude with good communication and problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery in line with production requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement, resolve minor issues and maximise efficiency.
• Complete quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
• Support daily production targets while minimising waste.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Report faults, maintenance needs, or quality concerns promptly.
• Follow all health & safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company standards.
