Job summary

Saputo is seeking a process operator in the UK to work on dairy production lines, gaining hands-on experience with dairy-free cheese and branded products. The role starts at a station and offers progression across different stations as you develop.

You will work Monday to Friday in a collaborative factory environment, with on‑the‑job training and support. Prior food production or prep experience is welcome, and Saputo is committed to developing your skills and advancing your career.

Qualifications

• Basic IT skills; comfortable using PC/HMI.
• Experience with Word and Excel is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Awareness of basic food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and communicating opportunities to improve working methods
• Measuring, grading and feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery
• Operating production line equipment, including cheese slicers and graters
• Reporting equipment faults to maintenance staff
• Monitoring the production process and carrying out basic testing, quality checks, and recording results
• Storing goods and raw materials in the factory or warehouse
• Packing goods to be ready for shipment on pallets
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas and machinery
• Actively maintaining production records

This process operator position is one where you will gain experience of the making of dairy‑free cheese, with your work going towards ensuring the production of quality products, both branded and private label (retailer own brands). Within your role, you will be working at a station for your first few months, mastering the role, then gaining the opportunity to work at different stations along the process – offering variety in your day. If you need more time to develop, we will look at ways to support you further to help you get to where you need to be. Suitable for you if you are

• Knowledgeable with basic IT skills. eg. ability to use a PC/HMI (with keyboard skills) with additional knowledge of Word and Excel an advantage
• Efficient with problem solving skills
• Able to communicate and work alone and as part of a team
• Aware and able to demonstrate an understanding of basic food hygiene
