Harrison Wipes has a fantastic opportunity available for a Production Operative Team Leader to join the team based in Romford, Essex. Joining on a full time permanent basis working 6:30 to 15:00 and 9:15 to 17:45 Monday to Friday, you will receive a salary of £18,000-£24,000.
As our Production Operative Team Leader, you will lead the team and help maintain the Company’s production activities, whilst meeting customer service and quality. You will provide operator support within the factory, including material preparation, job pack preparation, team member guidance and duty allocation and key holder duties.
Key responsibilities of the Production Operative Team Leader:
- Responsible of a team of operators, including job allocation, prioritisation and overall performance.
- Organise and prepare material for the machines.
- Prepare job packs, including works orders, product specifications , labels and packaging.
- Key holder with responsibility for unlocking and locking the business.
- Preparing production equipment for the shift start and ensure complete shutdown at shift end.
- Ensure that the factory meets its legal and Company obligations with respect to safety, environmental and hygiene factors in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure any unauthorised or unsafe actions are stopped immediately.
- Take hour by hour responsibility for all aspects of production and the production team.
- Help to ensure that the factory meets its key performance targets as outlined by the Board of Directors.
- Work with/assist the Production Planner, Stock Administrator and Factory Manager.
- Assist in the introduction and sustainability of modern manufacturing techniques such as total productive maintenance, efficient workflow and workplace organisation.
- Work with and develop your team to achieve world-class standards and key performance targets.
Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Production Operative Team Leader:
Essential:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- experience in leading a team
- Strong customer focus with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Adaptable and flexible attitude to work.
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure.
Desirable:
- Qualification in Supervisory Management.
- Team Leader position held in manufacturing unit.
- experience in wiping cloth manufacture and supply.
- Key holder responsibility
- Awareness of modern manufacturing techniques.
Working Hours
Initially working hours will be 6:30 to 15:00 and 9:15 to 17:45 Monday to Friday. A condition of the contract will be the post holders undertaking to convert to a standard double day rotating shift pattern, when and if business requirements necessitate the introduction of a split shift within the production facility. A shift premium will be introduced when and if these double day shifts are introduced.
