ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an outstanding teacher who is motivated and committed to student success. If you can bring teaching to life in an engaging and inspiring way that leads to high achievement, you will thrive at NHC.

You will be based at the college’s specialist Springboard provision (SEND) in Letchworth, which was rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2023. The Springboard programme is delivered at two self-contained centres, one in Watford and another in Letchworth.

Springboard is a full-time, personalised therapeutic learning programme for young people aged 16-24 who need additional support before progressing to mainstream courses or employment. Many students have a diagnosis or traits of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and related social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Our goal is to prepare students for adulthood by equipping them with independent living and employability skills to access higher-level programmes or employment. For more details, please visit the Springboard page on the NHC website.

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:

The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, it provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students annually, from study programmes for 16-18-year-olds and apprenticeships to adult education, locally, regionally, and nationally. The last Ofsted inspection in December 2023 rated the college as Good, with some outstanding features.

The Hart Learning Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as our roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subsequent amendments. It is an offence to apply for a role if barred from working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults. An online search may be conducted as part of the recruitment process to check for publicly available incidents or issues. If any are found, they may be discussed during the interview. Applicants must also provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
