Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Production (Filling) Operative to join our Minsterley site. The role involves operating designated lines, achieving daily operational targets, and maintaining GMP standards.

Contract: Permanent / Full Time

Location: Minsterley - SY5 0BN (Shrewsbury)

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts, days and nights (2 blocks of days & 2 blocks of nights)

Salary: £31,079.00 per annum

The ideal candidate will have experience managing production lines, troubleshooting, fault finding within a food manufacturing environment, and possess a high level of attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the delivery of the daily production plan for the line during the shift.
  2. Operate plant/equipment, performing routine basic maintenance.
  3. Achieve or exceed daily KPI targets.
  4. Ensure the availability of materials and packaging.
  5. Collaborate with Key Operators during start-up procedures, maintaining good manufacturing practices, housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
  6. Ensure effective handovers between shifts, remaining on line until relieved.
  7. Monitor product quality, identify non-conformance, and take corrective actions.
  8. Accurately complete all documentation, ensuring information is up-to-date and accessible.
  9. Train operators to ensure competence in their roles.
  10. Lead by example, promoting appropriate behavioral standards aligned with company values and culture.
  11. Comply with food safety requirements, control CCPs, and adhere to site quality procedures.
  12. Maintain GMP standards and seek continuous improvement.
  13. Prioritize health, safety, and welfare for oneself and others.
  14. Perform any other duties within skills and abilities as reasonably instructed.
  15. Promote and comply with all company policies, procedures, and values.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Effective problem identification and communication skills.
  • Experience working on high-speed, high-volume machines and plant.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Previous machine experience in a fast-paced production environment is desirable.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Focus on producing quality products to required standards, minimizing waste.
  • Control of material losses.
  • Adherence to GMP standards.
  • Knowledge of H&S statistics (e.g., accidents, near misses).
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and prioritize effectively.
