Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator

Location: Stratford Upon Avon

Pay: £13.11 per hour to start

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-6:00pm; Friday, 7:00am-1:00pm

Contract: Temporary to permanent

Full training provided for the right candidate.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and hands on Machine Operator to join our client's manufacturing team, working with plastic extrusion machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing or machine operating experience who is keen to develop their skills and learn a specialised production process. Previous experience in plastic extrusion is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plastic extrusion machinery to ensure production runs smoothly.
• Learn to set up machines, including fitting and changing tooling to suit different products.
• Ensure the correct raw materials are loaded into the machinery.
• Carry out quality checks, including inspecting finished products for defects and checking dimensions against specifications.
• Complete production paperwork and quality records accurately.
• Remove, handle and pack finished products as required.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and report any machinery or quality issues.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating machinery, with a willingness to learn machine setting and changeovers.
• A practical, hands on approach and good attention to detail.
• The ability to follow instructions, procedures and quality standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A reliable attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Previous plastic extrusion experience is an advantage, but candidates with transferable manufacturing or machine-operating experience will also be considered.
