Job Title: Production Operative

Location: Preston PR2 5BP

Salary: £32,407 per year

Job type: Full Time - Permanent.

What you'll be doing:

• Working Monday to Friday on a 3 shift rotation basis (6.00am-2.00pm, 2.00pm-10.00pm, 10.00pm-6.00pm).
• The role will involve working as part of a team; requiring excellent communication and a willingness to take part in problem-solving and continuous improvement exercises. Flexibility with a willingness to learn and embrace new skills will also form a fundamental requirement of the role. Duties will include:
• Ensure all work is carried out safely.
• Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Enforce and promote safety and housekeeping in your area of work.
• Report safety and hazard faults.
• Ensure customer quality standards are maintained at all times, including board/paper line up, starch viscosity checks, temperature and delamination checks.
• Ensure a rapid response to machine failures and breakdowns and inform relevant departments (Team leader & maintenance).
• Keep Shift Team Leader informed of work progress.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are rigidly adhered to and meet the agreed schedule (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly checks).
• Employ continuous improvement techniques and share best practices with colleagues.
• Demonstrate flexibility to cover absence and sickness as required.
