Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Production Operative at a leading drinks manufacturer in Tadcaster. The role involves supporting bottling and packaging operations, ensuring safe, efficient production and quality compliance.

Full training is provided, with an immediate start and the potential to extend beyond the initial 3-month contract. The position requires experience on fast-paced production lines, knowledge of quality control, and confidence using digital production systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or drinks manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience on fast-paced production lines.
• IOSH or health and safety training is advantageous.
• Understanding of TPM, WCM or DMAIC continuous improvement methods would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery.
• Keep lines supplied with materials and packaging.
• Carry out quality checks and record results accurately.
• Use digital systems to record production data.
• Move materials and finished products around the site.
• Assist with housekeeping, cleaning and basic machine maintenance.

Production Operative £16.40 per hour | 3-Months with Potential Extension | Rotating Days & Nights | Tadcaster (LS24)

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Production Operative to join a leading drinks manufacturer in Tadcaster. Offering an excellent hourly rate, structured training and the opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract, this is a great opportunity for candidates with FMCG, food production or manufacturing experience.

As a Production Operative, you will support the bottling and packaging operation, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating and monitoring production machinery
• Keeping manufacturing lines supplied with materials and packaging
• Carrying out quality checks and recording results accurately
• Using digital systems to record production data
• Moving materials and finished products across the site
• Supporting housekeeping, cleaning and basic machine maintenance activities
• Following health and safety procedures at all times
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Shift Pattern Panama shift rotation:

• 2 on / 2 off, then 3 on / 3 off
• Days: 06:00 - 18:00
• Nights: 18:00 - 06:00
• Rotating days and nights

To be considered for this Production Operative role, you should have:

• Previous experience as a Machine Operator, Manufacturing Operative, Process Operator or similar
• FMCG, food manufacturing or drinks manufacturing experience
• Experience working on fast‑paced production lines
• Knowledge of quality control procedures
• Confidence using digital production systems
• Good mechanical awareness
• IOSH or relevant health and safety training is advantageous
• Understanding of TPM, WCM or DMAIC continuous improvement methods would be beneficial
• A positive, solution-focused attitude and strong team‑working skills
