Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. You will assemble, test and prepare industrial equipment from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions, ensuring products are built safely, accurately and efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have mechanical assembly experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a mechanical assembly, manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical assembly skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products from drawings and instructions.
• Build and fit mechanical components including engines, electric motors, pump units, bearings and fuel systems.
• Use overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment safely.
• Complete vacuum and water testing procedures.
• Carry out quality inspections and identify non-conforming parts.
• Complete job cards and manufacturing documentation accurately.
• Prepare finished products for inspection and dispatch.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and safe working practices.

Meridian Business Support are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing team in Chandlers Ford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on individual with mechanical assembly experience who enjoys working with engineering components and takes pride in producing high-quality products.

The Role

As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and preparing industrial equipment to the highest standards. Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions, you will play a key role in ensuring products are built safely, accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble products using engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
