Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd is recruiting a Production Manager for its Thetford-based operations. The role covers the overall management of engineering workshops, ensuring fabrication, welding, installation and finishing are performed safely, efficiently and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering/manufacturing management.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day workshop activities.
• Coordinate production schedules and delivery requirements.
• Monitor workflow and resolve bottlenecks.
• Ensure effective utilisation of labour, materials and equipment.
• Lead supervisors and workshop teams.
• Conduct briefings, appraisals and performance reviews.
• Identify training needs and support development.
• Allocate resources and prioritise work orders.
• Monitor progress and communicate delays.
• Liaise with Stores and Purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture.
• Review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents and near misses.
• Monitor production staff efficiency and manage overtime levels.
• Reduce waste, scrap and rework.
