Job summary

• Conduct briefings, appraisals and performance reviews.
• Identify training needs and support development.
• Allocate resources and prioritise work orders.
• Monitor progress and communicate delays.
• Liaise with Stores and Purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture.

Job Purpose

• Providing the conduit between top level management and department supervisors, the Production Manager role will be responsible for the overall management of the engineering workshops, ensuring fabrication, welding installation and finishing operations are carried out safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Understanding and interrogating the current MRP system to recognize production shortages prior to them being realized and planning outputs of builds accordingly is a critical element of this role.
• Forming a relationship of trust and realism with the department supervisors and guiding and assisting them through the builds is essential to support the continued success and growth of business.
