Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd, a well-established manufacturing company based in Thetford, is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our production team. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with standard daytime hours.

You will weld brackets and metal components, perform general fabrication, read engineering drawings, operate guillotines and plasma cutters when trained, and ensure quality through careful measuring and finishing.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or metalworking.
• Practical welding experience with brackets, fixings and metal components.
• Good practical and manual skills with an eye for detail.
• Ability to measure accurately and work to specified dimensions.
• Reliable, positive attitude and teamwork.
• Strong commitment to quality and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Weld brackets, fixings and components onto metalwork to spec.
• Carry out general metal fabrication and assembly work.
• Use fabrication machinery (guillotines, plasma cutters) when trained.
• Measure, mark out and cut metal accurately.
• Prepare components for welding (cleaning, grinding, finishing).
• Read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow health and safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Support other members of the manufacturing team.
