Job summary

SWARCO is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead two Melsonby facilities, overseeing electro-mechanical production, manufacturing processes and safety on the shop floor. You will guide teams, drive performance and collaborate with Engineering to improve processes.

The role focuses on Lean, 5S and continuous improvement, with accountability for schedules, capacity, quality and timely delivery in a high-change environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Electro-mechanical or engineering-based manufacturing background.
• Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
• Experience with root-cause analysis to resolve problems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong communication and collaboration across all company levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production operations across both Melsonby facilities.
• Develop, motivate and manage production teams on the shop floor.
• Plan production schedules and capacity; ensure labour, equipment and materials are used efficiently.
• Monitor KPIs, quality and delivery targets; safeguard safety standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve processes and enable Design for Manufacture.
• Drive continuous improvement, lean methods and 5S to optimise performance.
