Job summary

Linkit Recruitment is assisting a bespoke joinery business in Leicester to hire a Production Manager responsible for day-to-day workshop operations. You will plan, schedule and oversee production, ensuring quality, safety and on-time delivery to budget.

The role demands strong joinery knowledge, hands-on leadership and the ability to drive improvements across the workshop. You will develop apprentices and coordinate with management on site.

• Strong joinery knowledge and workshop experience.
• Ability to lead people and own outcomes.
• Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership when plans change.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule workshop production through the ERP system.
• Ensure projects are delivered within hours and material budgets.
• Maintain health, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor quality and manage performance across the workshop.
• Review drawings and cutting lists before production.
• Provide joinery expertise and solve shop floor problems.
• Manage Goods In/Out, stock, packing, storage and delivery planning.
• Control stock in line with FSC requirements.
• Ensure machinery, FLTs and tools are maintained.
• Oversee timekeeping, absence, training and inductions.
• Develop apprentices and support recruitment of operatives.
• Collaborate with management to implement workshop improvements.
