About the Role

Our client, a prominent global manufacturer of consumer goods, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Production Manager to lead their operations in Randburg. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety targets are consistently met or exceeded. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily production activities, ensuring alignment with production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of production supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Monitor production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage the production budget, controlling costs and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Lead investigations into production issues and implement effective solutions.
• Contribute to strategic planning for capacity, technology, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a significant advantage.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in production management or a senior manufacturing leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale production operations and diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and lean manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing production budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote duties.
