About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize production systems at their facility in Randburg, Gauteng . This role is central to enhancing manufacturing efficiency, improving throughput, and ensuring the seamless integration of production processes. You will analyze current production lines, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions using data-driven methods. This is a Hybrid position, offering a blend of remote flexibility and essential on-site collaboration with production staff, engineering teams, and management. Your expertise in process optimization, simulation, and production planning will be vital. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at translating operational challenges into effective, scalable solutions that drive significant business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production systems, workflows, and capacity to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve production throughput, reduce cycle times, and optimize resource utilization.
• Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to test and validate proposed improvements.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency.
• Design and optimize workstation layouts and material handling systems.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for production processes.
• Monitor production performance metrics and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Participate in root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all implemented solutions comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on production systems and manufacturing processes.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a Hybrid setting.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling software.
