Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an experienced Production Manager for its site in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The role leads all production activities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, delivering operational excellence, cost efficiency, and quality.

You will report to senior management and drive improvements while ensuring safety and compliance. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in production management, strong leadership skills, and experience with ERP/SAP and Lean methods.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to drive Lean and continuous improvement.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise production schedules, resources and capacity.
• Drive operational performance through KPI monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop production teams to maximise productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
• Oversee performance management, training and development of staff.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 4501 compliance.
• Prepare operational reports and implement improvement plans.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead and oversee all production activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader who is passionate about operational excellence, continuous improvement, and developing high‑performing teams.

Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and cost‑effectively while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise production schedules, resources, and capacity.

• Track record of delivering operational KPI targets.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
