Job summary

Northern Powergrid is seeking a Production Manager to oversee field staff on electricity distribution networks, reporting to the Resource Manager-Industrial. You will monitor KPIs focused on safety, customer service, quality and productivity, and ensure site works meet time, cost and quality targets.

You will conduct site safety audits, manage PPE, budgets, handle customer enquiries, provide management reports, and drive continuous improvement on OSHA targets and restoration performance.

Qualifications

• Essential NEBOSH and electrical qualifications.
• UK driving licence required.
• Experience with Distribution Network Operator environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure field staffs work in line with company policy and procedures.
• Manage PPE, Tools & Equipment budgets.
• Carry out Site Safety Audits and provide feedback.
• Manage enquiries from customers and resolve complaints promptly.
• Brief staff on the organisation’s goals and messages.
• Provide site supervision to deliver works on time, cost and quality.
• Provide KPIs and management reports showing performance.
• Prioritise workload and identify efficiency improvements.
• Maintain good IT skills and effective written and spoken communication.
• Deliver excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Education

ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering

ILM Level 3 or equivalent

NEBOSH

Grade: Ind Level 4, pp 9-13

Possess a full UK driving licence

Holds Operational Codes with a Distribution Network Operator

Job description

The energy industry is advancing with investment in smart technology, greener energy generation and low carbon technology which is increasing the usage of electricity. This role is to carry out Production Manager duties, reporting to the Resource Manager-Industrial, by monitoring key performance indicators, focusing on Safety, Customer Service, Quality and Productivity.

The role will involve managing industrial staff working on electricity distribution networks undertaking both planned & reactive duties, ensuring that we meet our targets & goals, particularly focusing on ensuring continuous improvements on OSHA targets, achieving the 12-hour restoration target & assisting with improving our LV & HV restoration performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that field staffs are working in line with company policy & procedures.
• Managing PPE, Tools & Equipment budgets.
• Carryout Site Safety Audits providing feedback to staff & analysing findings.
• Manage direct and indirect costs within their sphere of control.
• Manage enquiries from customers and resolve customer complaints to resolution in the shortest possible timescale.
• Ensure all our industrial staff are fully briefed and the organisation’s goals and messages are accurately communicated.
• Provide site supervision to ensure site works are delivered to time, cost and quality.
• Provide KPIs and management reports that demonstrate the performance of the business.
• Able to prioritise workload, make a decision& identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
• Good level of IT knowledge & skills
• Effective Written & Spoken Communication
• Excellent Customer Service & Interpersonal Skills
