Job summary

Cavaghan & Gray, part of 2 Sisters Food Group, is based in Carlisle, Cumbria. The role sits in Production/Operations, leading a line or area to meet the line schedule and maintain safety and quality on site.

The post holder will drive day-to-day operational performance, interpret results to boost efficiency and manage labour and materials to optimise OEE. Interactions with H&S, Technical, Hygiene, Engineering and HR/L&D ensure safe, efficient production and minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• IOSH Managing Safely certification (training will be provided)
• CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for food management (training will be provided)
• 12 months experience of people management is desirable
• 12 months experience of working in a production environment is desirable

Responsibilities

• To effectively manage day to day issues on the line / area to ensure optimum operational performance
• To understand and interpret results, and take action to improve performance
• To control the cost of manufacture by operating to the agreed standards of labour utilisation, material utilisation, machine performance and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Member of middle management within the Production/Operations function, managing a production line or area in accordance with the line schedule and allocated employees
• Key interactions with all site functions (incl. H & S, Technical, Hygiene, Engineering, HR/L & D and any other support services) to ensure that Production is run safely, efficiently and effectively and to minimise downtime / waste
