Job description

Alexander Associates is working with a groundbreaking new space company seeking an experienced Production Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with technical leads to create CAD/CAM models and drawings for parts and sub-assemblies.
2. Design, construct, and characterise jigs and fixtures for testing OSS products.
3. Assemble breadboards and prototypes; support test campaigns as needed.
4. Develop and document Manufacturing and Assembly Procedures (MAPS).
5. Review and approve engineering drawings during the MAIT process.
6. Provide technical support to procurement, engaging with external suppliers.
7. Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure quality and safety standards.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues, offering recommendations.
9. Support the review of NCRs with the Product Assurance Manager.
10. Stay updated on engineering and production developments, sharing insights with the team.
11. Prepare production plans for current and future projects.
12. Evaluate and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience in production roles within regulated environments, preferably in the Space sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and metrology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build strong team relationships.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail.
